The last few weeks we've been talking about the major role that insulin resistance plays in contributing to inflammation and Alzheimer's disease, so I wanted to highlight some of the latest research showing that insulin resistance and diabetes are completely reversible. 

Dr. Benjamin Bikman is an expert on metabolic health with a focus on the role of elevated insulin in regulating obesity, diabetes, and dementia. In his new book, How to Not Get Sick, he shares that there are 3 primary causes of insulin resistance (and all chronic disease) which includes stress, inflammation, and elevated insulin. 

Stress, inflammation, and insulin are all capable of causing insulin resistance on their own and have been shown to cause insulin resistance in every model used including isolated cells, animals, and humans.
