Approximately 87% of children and 80% of adults in the U.S. had detectable levels of glyphosate in their urine samples, according to a study by the CDC.

This study ran from 2013-2014, testing urine samples from 650 children and 1,600 adults in the United States.

More recent research suggests that glyphosate exposure remains high, including a study published in 2024 finding that between 70.0% and 81.7% of the population had detectable levels of glyphosate.

As mentioned in last week’s post, glyphosate is a Class 2A carcinogen, a neurotoxin to the brain, and a highly inflammatory chemical that has harmful effects on our health (especially with prolonged exposure), with over 100,000 lawsuits filed against Monsanto claiming that exposure to glyphosate in Roundup led to non-Hodgkin lymphoma and other cancers.
